SARA GORELKIN

Stage Manager. Dramaturg. Arts Administrator.

BIO

Sara Gorelkin is a theatre artist and administrator from Long Island, New York. After graduating from Boston University in May of 2024, she will hold a BFA in Theatre Arts-Design & Production with concentrations in stage management and dramaturgy.

Sara grew up only a quick train ride away from the world’s most famous theater district—a commute she took full advantage of. Attending weekly voice lessons, visual art, and theatre classes, Sara embraced her artistic side from a young age. But it was when she reached high school that it became clear her passions lie backstage.

Sara hopes to collaborate with curious and passionate artists on projects that inspire both herself and the community at large to engage in meaningful conversations. In addition to stage management and dramaturgy, Sara is interested in casting, as well as producorial and administrative roles within entertainment.

When not in rehearsal or tech, you will probably find her binge-watching reality tv!

PHILOSOPHY

As a multi-hyphenate artist, I believe that my skills from one discipline inform and enrich my work in others. No matter the position I hold, I feel that communication and collaboration are the most important pillars of a process. I value those I work with not only as artists but as people in the world, and find it important to always display patience and understanding. As a stage manager, I aim to strike the balance between leading and listening, fostering a welcoming and safe environment where everyone feels comfortable to follow their curiosities. As a dramaturg, it is my goal to be a resource for the team, providing context and letting research drive my process. I am especially excited about new work and how I can be a part of a project’s development. I believe it is important to find joy in the art we make, so I often bring my sense-of-humor into the space.
